Bodyplethysmography is an advanced lung function examination that allows us to accurately measure lung volumes and airway resistance. The examination takes place in a special transparent cabin where the patient sits and breathes according to the healthcare provider's instructions.
Bodyplethysmography provides the most accurate measurement of lung volumes and is irreplaceable in the differential diagnosis of restrictive and obstructive lung diseases.
This type of measurement provides important information that regular spirometry cannot reveal, such as residual lung volume (air that remains in the lungs after exhalation), or precise total lung volume.
When is the examination performed?

Patients should be dressed in comfortable clothing and avoid tight clothing. Dental prostheses must be removed before the examination.
